Abstract

This paper distils the experiences of four participants from diverse academic backgrounds who part take in a staff development program that has a collaborative learning focus. Each participant reflects on his/her initial preconceptions of the program. They also reflect on how their understanding of collaborative learning evolved, and how it informed their commitment to developing a collaborative online learning environment. Their own experience with communication is drawn on to enhance the process of communication with other participants within a collaborative learning environment across a wide range of professional awards.

Key Words: Collaboration, tacit knowledge, quality learning
