Online Engagement in Higher Education Special Interest Group: Upcoming Event
Thursday 7th November, 2024 - 1- 2PM AEST
The HERDSA Higher Education Research Society of Australasia Online Engagement in Higher Education Special Interest Group in conjunction with University of South Australia’s Teaching Innovation Unit is pleased to present our November 2024 event - Improving Retention and Student Engagement Using Gamified Mobile Technology.
This webinar will detail significant improvement in student engagement and retention between users and non-users of a gamified mobile application (GMA) for first year accounting students in line with the recently published paper - Improving Retention While Enhancing Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes Using Gamified Mobile Technology.
The research detailed in this webinar found that users of GMA were more engaged with the learning material, their teachers, and their peers, with improved learning outcomes which motivated a significant number of students to persist with their studies.
Stuart Dinmore, Sheridan Gentili and Jay Cohen will convene this session where we will hear from the researchers, Grainne Oates, Wendy James and Nikki Schonfeldt CA FHEA.
