Last chance to vote for HERDSA PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT for current HERDSA MEMBERS ONLY
28TH MARCH 2024 5.00PM AEDST

IF YOU ARE A CURRENT HERDSA MEMBER YOU ARE INVITED TO VOTE FOR PRESIDENT/PRESIDENT ELECT BEFORE THE VOTING CLOSES ON 28TH MARCH AT 5.00PM AEDST

In the recent call for nominations for HERDSA President Elect/ President for 2025-2027 term, HERDSA received two nominations for the position of HERDSA President Elect/President.
Explanatory note:

The one-year position as President Elect enables a full induction of the incoming President into the current practices and systems of HERDSA one year prior to the President term of office.

The current President, if re-elected continues in the role of President until the end of their term of office.

In this election round, the President Elect role takes effect at the end of the July 2024 HERDSA conference, and the role of President 2025-2027 takes effect from the end of the July 2025 conference.

Should the current President be re-elected as President, their term of office as President 2025-2027 will continue from the end of the July 2025 conference.

The President who is elected has a two-year term (2025-2027) before another election is called. The maximum a President can serve is 3 terms or 6 years.

CANDIDATES
Professor Kogi Naidoo is currently the HERDSA President and has nominated for re-election. Kogi will remain in the President position until July 2025 having served 4 years in total. If re-elected Kogi would serve a further two years as President between 2025 and 2027. Kogis short biography and personal statement can be found online at https://herdsa.org.au/election-statement/kogi-naidoo

Professor Christy Collis is currently on the HERDSA Executive and having served 5 years on the Executive in July 2024, has nominated for President Elect for 2024 and for President for the years 2025 to 2027.
