 Revised Intensive Mode Teahing Guide now including video vignettes

The Intensive Mode Teaching Guide developed as part of our OLT project has been revised following feedback from participants in the workshops held in 2016. The revised guide is available online and as a pdf at http://www.ecm.uwa.edu.au/students/learning/research/intensive-mode-teac...
The online version now includes 10 brief videos of people who kindly agreed to share their experiences of teaching with intensive mode.

Job at RMIT - Senior Research Fellow - SHEER Centre

The Science Health and Engineering Education Research (SHEER) Centre is
located within the RMIT College of Science Engineering and Health. It
provides a research platform for staff to undertake innovative cutting edge
research in education in the disciplines of science, engineering and
health. The Senior Research Fellow's role is primarily to advise, plan, and
develop high quality education research projects and to contribute to
documentation and dissemination of SHEER Centre research project outcomes.

About the role:

   - Academic Level C
   - Part time 0.6 FTE
   - Fixed term to June 2018

8th Asia Pacific Conference on Educational Integrity (8APCEI)
6-7th November 2017

The Asia Pacific Forum on Educational Integrity (APFEI) is delighted to announce that its 8th confernce on academic integrity will be hosted by The University of Sydney in 2017.

Academic integrity is crucial not only for safeguarding the integrity of knowledge creation and dissemination, but is also foundational in establishing the public trust that society needs to operate. The theme of the 8APCEI conference – Academic Integrity as a Public Good – emphasises academic integrity as a society-wide issue which has a strong influence on ethical practices within professions, industry and business, government and public institutions.

Publication announcement: IEEE TLT special issue on Learning through Wearable Technologies and the Internet of Things

A special issue of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT) on the topic of Learning through Wearable Technologies and the Internet of Things, guest edited by Mark J. W. Lee, has been published. The guest editor's preface to the special issue is free to download at http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/TLT.2016.2629379 and the full issue is available through IEEE Xplore at http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/mostRecentIssue.jsp?punumber=4620076 . Please note that TLT operates on a "delayed open-access" publication model whereby the articles are initially only available to Xplore subscribers (most university libraries have subscriptions), but become open access 12 months following publication. 

A "sister" issue of the IEEE Transactions on Education (ToE) on Maker Learning in Computer Science and Engineering Education is slated for release on Xplore in February 2017.

 3rd International Higher Education - Curriculum Design & Academic Leadership Symposia
1st April 2017 

6th to 8th December 2017, Hamilton, New Zealand. Call for Papers, Posters & Mini Workshops...relating to higher education curriculum design, learning, assessment and evaluation. Research and scholarly paper proposals and mini workshops invited. Submissions required by the 1st April 2017. All proposals and posters will be blind peer reviewed. Proposal acceptances will be notified by 1st June 2017. Full research or scholarly papers will be due by the 1st September 2017 if accepted for peer reviewed publication at the conference.
