Learning and Teaching Induction blog and Special Interest Group

Dear Colleagues

Through my recently awarded National Teaching Fellowship, my partners and I will develop a semester long, open access learning and teaching induction program (LTIP) for the Australian higher education sector. In support of that work, which will commence in August this year, I have established a teaching induction blog (Teachinginduction.blogspot.com.au).

My understanding is that you don’t need an account to comment on the posts but if you don’t want to be anonymous, you will need to add your name to your comment or else open a google account. At this stage, if you want to make a post you need to send it to me to load – I would be delighted to receive your posts (kfraser@swin.edu.au).

The blog has been set up so that if you submit your email address as indicated on the front page (follow by email), you will be alerted every time a new post is published.

We are also starting a Teaching Induction Special Interest Group at the HERDSA conference in July so if you are interested in the area, and are coming to the conference, please come to that meeting, which is yet to be scheduled. If you are interested in the area and not coming to the conference, please let me know and I will contact you about how the SIG will operate post the conference (kfraser@swin.edu.au).

Cheers

Kym Fraser

Reminder Survey Higher Education Teachers

Dear AustralAsian colleagues,

a lot of you have already participated in my survey on higher education teachers' emotions and their approaches to teaching - thank you very much for your participation so far!

However, it would be great if yet more higher education teachers would participate in order to make the results more representative.

I therefore kindly ask you to participate (if you have not so far) and to forward this message to colleauges at your university or at other higher education institutions in Australia and New Zealand. Completing the survey will take max. 10 minutes and data will only be analysed on the group sample-level and only in an anonymous manner.

You can access the survey via this link until 31 July, 2016:

http://www.unipark.de/uc/teach_2016/

Thank you very much - I hope I can provide you with results soon.

Sincerely

Robert Kordts-Freudinger
