The Office of the PVC Learning Futures is seeking to appoint a Manager, Curriculum Implementation to lead our team of Curriculum Advisors.

This senior position will work closely with the Director, Learning Transformations and the PVC Learning Futures to coordinate, plan, manage, and collaboratively lead an effective program of transdisciplinary work with School-aligned Curriculum Advisors and other colleagues, to support the university’s ambitious 21C Curriculum Project. The successful applicant will apply expert knowledge of university teaching, learning and academic development to develop creative, research-based solutions to support curriculum transformation.  The role will also contribute to the development of new professional learning strategies for university teachers to support learning transformation in technology rich environments.

Please note, this position is a full-time, fixed-term position for 5 years. 
The University conducts its business across multiple campuses and this position is required to travel to and work from multiple campuses as required. 

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 9 $134,458 to $143,591 p.a. (comprising Salary of $113,619 to $121,336 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)

As PVC HDR Training and Partnerships you will have strategic oversight of HDR candidature throughout the life cycle, advancing our tradition of training and supporting our candidates and the supervisors who mentor them. You will guide policy and process, collaborating with Faculties to ensure the effective delivery of high calibre programs; lead related partnerships, locally and globally; and engage in national and international dialogue on HDR training to ensure that Macquarie embodies best-practice in the experience it offers its HDR candidates. You will have Doctoral level qualifications; extensive experience as a research active academic; an excellent track record supervising HDR candidates; a deep understanding of supervisor development and supervision pedagogy; and extensive knowledge of the higher education sector, in particular, research and research training. 

Salary: A competitive salary package and benefits will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Leadership in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education - Call for Chapter Contributions

Following our successful book on Academics’ International Teaching Journeys: Personal Narratives of Transitions in Higher Education, Namrata Rao and myself (Anesa Hosein) are putting together a proposal for a new book that also utilises personal narratives. 

This book has a proposed title of “Leadership in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education: Narratives of Academics’ Personal Journeys”. Contemporary approaches to university teaching - a teaching induction MOOC

The free teaching induction MOOC, Contemporary approaches to university teaching, provides key introductory learning and teaching concepts and strategies for those in their first few years of university teaching (https://www.canvas.net/browse/swinburne/courses/contemporary-approaches-...). The self-paced MOOC is comprised of 11 expert-developed modules and several specialty modules and resources. Participants are encouraged to engage with the MOOC for two hours a week across the semester. However, the MOOC can be used as a just in time, just for me resource and used as and when needed. Topics include Planning for learning, Supporting online learning, Feedback for learning, Curriculum design etc.
