The Tertiary Education Research in New Zealand Conference (TERNZ) provides a forum for enquiry into learning and teaching. We invite you to join us in Dunedin for TERNZ 2016
 
We welcome abstracts from researchers in any aspect of the study of higher education for:
• Parallel sessions - interactive spaces to share current research and to workshop with like-minded colleagues
• Posters
 
TERNZ is unusual for an academic conference in that a distinctive feature of the conference is the emphasis on creating time for discussion and space for reflection.

Job: Educational Designer (3 positions), USQ

USQ are looking for 3 Educational Designers to join the newly formed Advancement of Learning and Teaching unit. 

The Educational Designer will work collaboratively with academics in the provision of hands on support to design and develop courses that provide stimulating, engaging and effective learning experiences for students. They will provide advice and support on educational design, formative and summative assessment, feedback strategies and the choice of media for facilitating student learning in all modes of delivery. 

The Educational Designer will have an advanced understanding of pedagogy and experience in the application of this knowledge to support the enhancement of teaching quality and to support students learning. This role will work as part of a team of Educational Designers, with each Designer supporting one of USQ’s five discipline areas: 
•    Creative Arts, Society and Culture 
•    Management and Commerce, and Law 
•    Education 
•    Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology 
•    Sciences and Health 

The Educational Designer will work in partnership with USQ Liaison Librarians, Learning Advisors and other service providers allowing a holistic and integrated service and support model to be provided to the academics and students in each discipline.
