Higher Education Research & Development (HERD) is seeking several new Associate Editors and reviewers to work with the editorial team on managing the double-blind peer-review process for submitted papers.

Associate Editors

The Associate Editor’s (AE) core role is to oversee the review process for approximately 8-10 manuscripts per year.

The AE term is three years, starting date to be negotiated, and with the possibility of renewing for a second term.

Applying to become an Associate Editor of HERD

To prepare a brief Expression of Interest in becoming an Associate Editor for HERD, please include a one-page letter, CV (with publications) and a one-page response to the following selection criteria: 

Selection criteria for Associate Editors of HERD

  1. A strong record of publication in the field of Higher Education. 

  2. A record of reviewing for key journals and conferences in Higher Education. 

  3. An interest in fostering the field of Higher Education research. 

  4. Good time management and organisational skills. 

  5. Editorial experience (desirable but not essential).

College of Reviewers

The College of Reviewers provides HERD with a pool of internationally recognised higher education scholars who are willing to review 4 to 6 manuscripts per year in HERD’s required timeframe (4 weeks). Members of the College of Reviewers meet the following criteria, based on the depth and recency of their publications: at least three peer reviewed publications in peer reviewed higher education journals in the past decade.
